Greetings! On behalf of the National Collegiate Table Tennis Association, I would like to take a moment to introduce you to the exciting sport of college table tennis. The National Collegiate Table Tennis Association (NCTTA) is a government-recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to promoting competitive college table tennis in the US and Canada. NCTTA works with USA Table Tennis, the sports’ national governing body, to further progress the purpose and development of table tennis in America.
We are embarking on an exciting new year. Our teams have had a successful 2011 season. We have 140+ institutions of higher education competing in college table tennis. Our participation of women’s teams has increased to 30 + schools, reflecting a steady increase in interest among female athletes. The 2011/12 season embarks the first time NCTTA will host regional events for qualifiers of division meets, as well as administering its own singles and doubles events NCTTA is increasing its social media presence, exploring every avenue to reach our athletes and the general public to inform them on everything college table tennis. The 2011 Championships was the first year our event was streamed live via the internet. We are looking to continue these things and more.
The thrill of participating in collegiate athletics is a motivating force for many high-school athletes. NCTTA stands to meet this challenge by actively promoting one of the most opportunistic sports available to young athletes. We strive to meet this goal by working to increase our membership, encourage a high level of competitive play, and advocate professionalism. NCTTA works to promote both recreational and intercollegiate table tennis on college campuses. Our goal in mind is to promote a high level of amateur competition among neighboring collegiate athletic programs.
Every organization requires financial stability to meet its goals, both long and short term. Each year our board of director’s is challenged to find new and creative ways to meet these goals. This year our campaign initiative is to create our first national donations fundraiser. We have a set a mark of $10,000 US dollars to be raised by the end of our fiscal year, May 31st, 2013. These funds will be used towards, but not limited to:
