West Region of NCTTA Converges for Regional Champs

This weekend at the Silicon Valley Table Tennis club, schools from the Northwest, California and Rocky Mountain area all travel to northern California for the 2015 West Regional Championships sponsored by Double Fish, Joola and TMS.

According to Ryan Hsu, NCTTA West Regional Director, "I believe UC Berkeley is the expected winner on paper, boasting 2 national champions in their lineup and top 4 players all over 2200." Berkeley is always competitive, placing 4th in Men's/Coed teams and 2nd in Women's teams at the 2014 TMS College Table Tennis Championships.

The Ping Pong Posse, also known as the University of Southern California team, is also strong and should be very competitive. Five schools out of the Southern California division were invited to this competition via wildcard placement, showing the high level of play in that area.

Oregon State and the University of Colorado - Boulder are probably driving the longest distances, 9 hours and 18 hours respectively. Colorado is sponsored by NCTTA Championships sponsor PepPod, and is a brand new school to NCTTA looking to surprise some people!
